Marda_17 is a seventeen unit project designed in conjunction with Robert Pashuk Architecture for Jigsaw Homes.
Rather than a conventional single-block building form, we chose to split the building into three blocks over a common parkade. Each of these blocks shares a common interior courtyard, which is also the means of accessing many of the units.
The building form permitted fourteen of the units to be two-storey townhouse units, quite a feat given the small size of this corner site. The other three units consist of two small one-bedroom units and one large, two-bedroom flat with a generous amenity space.
Almost all of the units have varying ceiling heights and/or floor heights, allowing the interior spaces to be as interesting in section as they are in plan.
