Sunnyside Fourplex
The challenge when developing in Sunnyside is to both achieve the density that the market demands, while still fitting in with the generally low-density context. This four-unit building borrows the brick material from the nearby Vendome Block, but is formally eroded to allow for the entries and large windows.
The two lower units have doors on the building corners, and have full basements, while the upper units are accessed through the central common door and stair beyond. Each of these upper units have a loft floor and a generous south-facing terrace with great views across a park of Calgary's downtown skyline.
