Our Work

Inertia specializes in residential design, ranging in scale from secondary suites and single detached homes to semi-detached housing, rowhousing and small scale multi-residential projects. For mixed use or multi-residential projects with more than four units, we recommend our sister company, Gravity Architecture.

Custom Home Design

Designing your home or major renovation can be an intimidating process. By taking you through the process step-by-step, we make all the decisions more manageable. As well, by using industry leading 3D design software, we can help you visualize your project before construction even begins.

Semi-detached Design

Two-unit buildings have significant advantages over two narrower infills. With less space given over to sideyards, backyards can be bigger. As well, wider floor plans provide more plan layout options. Regardless of configuration, our creativity and experience lead to the best outcomes for our clients.

Multi-residential Design

Builders and developers have been relying on Inertia since 2006 to prepare designs and permit drawings for small multi-residential projects. We have created three- or four-unit developments in almost every configuration possible, from foursquare to rowhouse, single building and multiple building, grade-oriented and stacked, and with and without suites. Our experience allows us to deliver designs that both meet local policy and market demands.

Additions, Major Renovations,
Secondary Suites and Laneway Houses

Sometimes the best new house incorporates and old one. Inertia has helped many clients update their homes with additions and major renovations as well as with secondary suites and laneway houses. Take advantage of our experience to create the best design solution for your existing home.

Consulting and Visualization

Inertia works with clients on much more than just preparing permit and construction drawings. Our consulting services include site analysis, residential product development, preparation of marketing drawings and the production of high-resolution renderings.
